Lunch Bag + Wristlet

Here comes another finished birthday gift project!

Pheww... July has been such a busy month~~

It's a not so fortunate coincidence that 3 of my good girl friends having their birthdays in the same month as I do, it made the month that I wished to be the most relaxed and that can give me a chance to reflect on my life so far and plan my future plans, be one of the busiest month of this year...

Nevertheless~ every time I finish a project, I can feel a surge of happiness flowing inside me, and the thought of giving a one-of-a-kind gift for my good friend makes the time and energy worth spending!

So this is my last finished birthday gift project... *drum rolls*

the finished set!
I made the lunch bag on the courtesy of the tutorial in Pink Penguin - Ayumi's blog.
As for the wristlet, I found a tutorial for zippered card pouch in Craft Passion, and it became the base idea to  make this wristlet.

Lastly, I hope my good friend love this set as much as I do! :)

Metal-Framed Purses

This week has been extremely busy due to finishing Birthday Gift projects for 2 dear girl friends.

I gave the gifts on Saturday and I'm so happy that they like it!

1st set of Purses
2nd set of Purses

This is actually the first time I made a purse using metal-frame and luckily, they came out quite good. Yay~

On an even brighter note, when I met one of my girlfriends in a cafe to pass her the gift, the patrons of the table next to us stared at the red mama-purse (the bigger one), and she asked me where I bought it. Whoaaaa... I'm so incredibly touched and proudly told her than I made them myself. She seemed impressed and complimented that the purse was pretty. I'm so happy that my hard word was acknowledge by a stranger. My girlfriend also teased me saying that maybe I can start making a business out of it. Heehee~

Sewing Sunday - Lunch Bag and Zippered Pouch

These past few days have been very very HOT!!

I wish that it would rain, but apparently the sun really loves showing off his grand and greatness to the world... Even a friend of mine said that it felt like Sahara desert... Well, it was an exaggeration, but that could help giving an idea on how unusual it is to be this hot... :(

Anyway, I would like to thank the inventors of air conditioner and fan, because without them, I don't think I could survive today and finally finish 2 projects that had been in pending mode since last week.

I had been meaning to make a new lunch bag for me. The old one was too big. And I have this very beautiful Japanese fabric that I got months ago that I think would be perfect for a lunch bag.

The pattern of it is picnic or some sort. There are cakes, trees, flowers, fruits, bread, gifts, etc. And the color, oh how can I start with the color... They are bright and cheer-y! It kinda gives the Fall vibe, but then the flowers and butterflies kinda give Spring vibe. Oh well, it doesn't matter since I love it anyway!

I added a drawstring to make sure that the lunch boxes would just fit nicely inside and not spill nor turn over.

And then, I made a zippered pouch from the remaining fabric.

At first I thought of just making the pouch by patching the patterned and solid fabrics, but then I felt something was off, so I added additional lime checkered pattern fabric around it and I think it matches nicely!
